The Realme V5 is powered by 7nm Dimensity 720 chip by Mediatek - it has two Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 units, all going at 2 GHz. You get 6 GB or 8 GB RAM, while storage is set at 128GB, with optional expansion via the microSD slot.
There are four cameras on the back - a 48MP F/1.8 main one and an 8MP ultrawide-angle cam with 119-degree FoV being the more interesting pair. The setup also has a macro sensor to take shots up to 4 cm, and a depth sensor to assist the Portrait mode for fancy background blur.
Looking at the front, the Realme V5 presents a 6.5” LCD with 20:9 ratio, 90Hz refresh rate, and 180Hz touch sampling rate. There is a single punch hole in the upper left corner for the selfie camera that has a 16MP sensor. The fingerprint scanner found its way on the side, doubling as a power key.
The Realme V5 also packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 30W fast-charging through the USB-C port. Realme promises 0-100% in 65 minutes, and you can use the device in the same time with the screen on full brightness - as VOOC generates far less heat than most competing standards.
The 5G capabilities include support for the sub-6 GHz standard and works both on SA and NSA networks. Realme has a feature called Smart 5G that switches between 5G and LTE when convenient to save the battery life and provide smooth online experience.
Realme V5 is certified by Dolby Atmos for its sound and Hi-Res Audio for “exquisite audio experiences”, as the official press release states.
Realme said during the announcement the V lineup will provide a trendsetting design, and the V5 truly is something memorable, even if not quite unprecedented. There are three colors, with the Silver one bringing huge “Realme” logo on the side, just like the Honor 30 lineup.
The other two - Blue and Green - bring a matte + glossy solution, which might be a first for the Realme brand, but is already something we’ve seen in the Honor 8X devices.

Samsung Galaxy M41 is the best smartphone in the budget. Instead of fact , the device has resurfaced on China's 3C certification site bearing model number EB-BM415ABY. The development comes after a previous report said that the South Korean tech giant dropped the idea of launching the Galaxy M41 smartphone.
According to a new report, the Samsung Galaxy M41 is still in the reckoning although the company hasn't confirmed anything about it yet. Apart from this, the report doesn't reveal any other key specifications of the device.
Besides the listing, an image of the battery unit has also leaked online on the Safety Korea website, and it has revealed that a Chinese company known as Ningde Amperex Technology Limited will be the manufacturer. Interestingly, a report last year revealed that the yet to be announced Samsung Galaxy M41 could boast a triple camera setup at the back, featuring a 64-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel secondary camera, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. The report further suggested that the phone will also be powered by an Exynos 9630 chipset and house 6GB of RAM.
Having said that, customers can expect some changes over the Samsung Galaxy M40 that the company launched in June last year. To recall, the Samsung Galaxy M40 which has a price tag of Rs 16,850 in India for the 6GB+128GB storage option, is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor and is also backed by a 3,500mAh battery. In the camera department, the device has a triple rear camera setup at the back that includes a 32-megapixel primary sensor, a 5-megapixel secondary sensor, and an 8-megapixel tertiary sensor. For selfies, the phone comes with a 16-megapixel sensor along with 4k video recording as well.

In the looks department, the Redmi 9A looks fairly similar to the Redmi 9. Both phones have a plastic build with a matte finish, making for a phone that does not feel premium. Still though, the Redmi 9A feels nice and grippy even without a case. Another plus with having a plastic build with a matte finish is that the phone’s back is not a fingerprint magnet.
Again, much like the Redmi 9, the 9A’s back has a unique textured finish. It might not be readily apparent at first, but you’ll see it when taking a closer look. While it doesn’t really add much in terms of looks, it does make the phone feel good to hold and use.
Moving to the front, we can see the Redmi 9A’s 6.53-inch HD+ display. While it does have a fairly large chin, the border’s aren’t that noticeable when using a dark background. Compared to the Redmi 9, the 9A’s looks almost exactly the same from the front. The two biggest differences though are a lower resolution on the 9A, and the inclusion of Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the Redmi 9.Given that it’s not a 1080p display, the Redmi 9A’s screen is not the sharpest. Colors are also slightly muted, meaning it won’t be the best for watching movies/shows. That doesn’t mean you can’t binge-watch on the phone though; the display is still decent for a budget phone, but the Redmi 9 still blows it out of the water for movie/series marathons.
For audio, the Redmi 9A has a single, bottom-firing onboard speaker. As expected, the Redmi 9A’s speaker doesn’t exactly have good audio output, with sound quality being tinny and a bit flat. Considering that this is a phone that’s priced under PHP 5k, the Redmi 9A’s speaker is pretty decent for its price. Plus, you can always use headphones or an external speaker via Bluetooth or through the phone’s 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Redmi 9A is powered by a MediaTek Helio G25 processor, a lower-end SoC that’s designed for gaming. In my experience, sub-5k phones struggle for mobile gaming. To my surprise, the Redmi 9A is actually a pretty capable gaming phone!
For less hardware-intensive titles, the Redmi 9A will have no problems running them. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang for example, ran smoothly on both the recommended setting of Medium, as well as on the High graphics setting. So if you’re an ML player on a tight budget, the Redmi 9A is highly recommended.
To get the phone to an SRP that’s under PHP 5k, Xiaomi had to skimp somewhere, and that is in the camera department. Unlike most phones being released today, the Xiaomi Redmi 9 only has one 13MP rear camera. At the front meanwhile is a 5MP selfie camera.
When shooting outdoors in the daytime, the Redmi 9A’s rear camera takes good quality photos, with a nice amount of detail and fairly accurate colors. In fact, daytime photos taken by the Redmi 9A can go head-to-head with more expensive phones.

The Redmi 9A’s main camera struggles with low light photography though. Low light photos taken with the Redmi 9A are blurry and lack detail; not to mention that the colors are a bit flat. It doesn’t help that the phone has no dedicated night mode.
As for its 5MP selfie camera, the front shooter takes decent selfies, though they’re not the best quality as some selfies can turn out a bit blurry and lacking in detail.
Where the Redmi 9A excels though is battery life. Thanks to the phone’s large 5000mAh battery, the phone can easily last for over a day of use on a single charge. If you don’t use the Redmi 9A heavily, the phone can even last for two days on just one charge. Of course, battery consumption varies per user, so it’s hard to pinpoint exactly how long the Redmi 9A will last for your uses.
Sure, the phone’s cameras and UI may not be the best, but the Redmi 9A delivers where it counts–performance. Even though its price is only PHP 4,590, the Redmi 9A has enough power to run most of today’s popular games. Couple this with its great battery life, the Redmi 9A is a good option for buyers with only a PHP 5k budget.
If you can spare a bit more cash though, there are a lot of competing phones in the budget segment that can offer a better experience, including Xiaomi’s own Redmi.

Xiaomi has unveiled a new variant of the Redmi K30 series called the Redmi K30 Ultra at the Mi 10 Ultra launch event in China. The key highlights of Redmi K30 Ultra include a MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ 5G processor, a 120Hz AMOLED full-screen display and a 64MP quad-camera.
