Google Pixel 5 smartphone UNBOXING VS (Pixel 4a 5G)

About the Google Pixel 5 UNBOXING (vs Pixel 4a 5G) smartphones

So we'll unbox both of these Google pixel 5 and Google pixel 4. And we'll also have a bit of a look at all of the key differences. Let's get to it. So mine actually came in this box called Help Has Arrived. But I actually took the Pixel 5 out 'cause I wanted to show it on the intro so you know. I'll have more recently in the video, 'cause otherwise you might just click on the video and think. "He's not actually got the devices." Google Hyper speed Helper. So let's see which is best. Google pixel 4 VS Google pixel 5.

We also have a Google Pixel 5 case. And then we had the Google Pixel 5 5G. And we have the 4a. Right, we're going to try to do these at the same time. That was pretty good, in sync. Did you see? Yeah, I'm pretty proud of myself. The Pixel 5 does have a very interesting texture on it. Which looks really cool. The Google Pixel 4a 5G looks very much like the Pixel 4a without 5g. That's going to be so confusing. All right, let's take these out. Quick peek inside the boxes to see what else we get as well as the devices. So exactly the same stuff. We've got some paper work, SIM card tool, an 18-watt charger.  We've not got crazy fast charging speeds, just an 18-watt charger. USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable, as well as a USB Type-Ato USB Type-C converter.

Google pixel 5 and 4 both are good Smartphones. Back to the topic. Which you can kind of use with your old device to transfer everything over. Now one thing to quickly mention is that the Pixel 5 does have wireless charging. The pixel 4a 5G does not. Plastic removal time. And the same for the Google pixel 5. It's is 100% recycled aluminum enclosure is what Google pixel said, and that got a lot of people confused thinking, how can you have 100% aluminium and still have wireless charging? Well it seems like the hundreds percent referred to the recycled parts, not the full build. So it kind of seems like we've an aluminum enclosure with maybe a space for the coils for wireless charging.

It is best features in Google pixel smartphones. And then there's this kind of outer shell. Which has this really interesting feel. This is the the Sort of Sage, Google like to have some funky names. There's also a just black version available for the Google Pixel 5, the pixel 4a 5g just comes in this just black, and it has a polycarbonate unibody. Polycarbonate is a fancy name for plastic. Nevertheless, it does still feel good. You do get IPX8 water resistance on the Pixel 5. The  Google Pixel 4a 5G does not have any water resistance. Now let's take a look at the front of the devices. I'm going to just go into the settings.

In Google pixel. You can actually see the displays properly. And the first thing. You'll notice is that the Pixel 4a 5G does have a larger display. It's 6.2 inches, versus the six-inch display of the Pixel 5. And although both are OLED displays, there are actually quite a few significant differences between the two. You will see that the Pixel 5 does have overall smaller bezels compared to the Google Pixel 4a 5G. But in terms of my first impressions. I can also notice the Google Pixel 5 does have a brighter display compared to the Google Pixel 4a 5G. I'm not sure of the exact nits. And the Google pixel 5 also Hasban higher contrast ratio.

But most importantly, the  Google Pixel 5 does have a 90 hertz refresh rate versus the 60 hertz refresh rate on the pixel 4a 5g. So overall, you are getting the better display on the Pixel 5 versus the Pixel 4a 5G. Although the 4a 5G does not have a bad display by any means. I'm sure most people will be absolutely fine with it. Now displays aside. There's a lot that's actually exactly the same between both of these starting with the cameras. We have the same cameras on both devices. So you're not going to be missing out on any camera features of You go for one or the other. There's an 8 megapixel Front facing selfie camera. And if we look over onto the back, we do have the same rear-facing cameras.

In Google pixel. We've got two cameras on each, primary Camera 12 megapixels with optical image stabilization. And dual pixel autofocus. But then we have something which we have been asking for for a long time, a 16megapixel ultra wide camera which has around a 107degree angle of view. I'm surer member quite clearly, last year for the Pixel 4 event, Google said that ultrawide cameras are fun. But they feel that telephoto cameras are more useful. And I mean, everybody was like, "Really? "Who told you that? "Like, seriously?" But if I was to pick one or the other, I would always pick the ultra wide camera because you can still get good telephoto shots using software.

There is absolutely no way you can get an ultra wide shot in Google pixel using software on a single camera. So I'm glad Google has actually taken the feedback on board, and honestly speaking. I am super super excited to see how this ultra wide camera will perform compared to some of the other competition. Pixel processing is among the best if not the best out there, especially when it comes to dynamic range. So this on the ultra wide camera is going to be very interesting to see, and of course.

Now wo going Google pixel 5 unboxing. It's going to come soon. I am currently under embargo restrictions, so I'm not going to be able to post it straight away, but as soon as I can,it's going to be online. It's going to be very very interesting. Now remember, when it comes to Pixel devices. It's very much about the software, not just the hardware. So we do have some new software features on the cameras, we've got improved HDR+.

So this should give us Street dynamic range, live HDR+ as well, so you should be able to preview how your images are going to look in Google Pixel smartphones. We've got some portrait lighting effects and improved night shift as well for low light photography, as well as improvements for video. I'm looking forward to checking all of these things out. We still have 1080p from the front facing cameras however, no 4K, A little disappointed about that still.

So although Google pixel is kind of listening to some of our feedback, it doesn't look like they're listening to all of it. Anyway, inside the hood we also have a lot of similarities. So both devices are powered by three Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 G chipset, which diese able 5G on both devices. The 765 G is a very capable chipset, and I think it should be absolutely fine for pretty much most people out there. However, of course, it is not as powerful and as efficient as the 865 or the 865+. Now both devices do come with 128 gigabytes of storage and we do get some more RAM on the Pixel 5, eight gigabytes of RAMversus six gigabytes of RAM on the Pixel 4a 5G.

So that will give you better multitasking on the Google Pixel 5, but generally speaking. I think you should be fine with either of these. The batteries as well, the Pixel 5 actually comes with a bigger battery, even though the Pixel4a is a large device. You do have a 4080mAhbattery on the Pixel 5. On the pixel 4a 5g you have a 3885mAh battery. Let me check, yeah, that's right, 3885. Now in terms of usage and performance, obviously.

Now some extra things about the Google Pixel event. We're going to have to wait and see and I'm going to have to use these for an extended period of time. But you have to bear in mind that you do have that higher refresh rate on the Pixel 5 as well as a brighter display so this might have a impacts on battery life. Now for charging, as we mentioned education earlier on, we do get 18-watt charging out of the box of both of these.

But the Google Pixel 5 does come with wireless charging. So this is an advantage, something. That I find very, very useful. It's something that you're not going to get on the Pixel 4a 5G. Also as a bonus, the Pixel 5 does support reverse wireless charging. So you'll be able to charge say, for example, your Pixel buds. Do the pixel buds support wireless charging? I think they do. But if not, then you know, you can charge your Air Pods or your Galaxy buds Plus, whatever it is, reverse wireless charging is here on the Pixel 5. Now both devices also have Pixel Imprint, which is the rear fingerprint scanner, and it works absolutely fine. I personally don't mind a rear facing fingerprint scanner.

Now one reason why you will probably be going with a Google Pixel device is for the software. These are some of the first,I believe if not the first, I think it's going between these and the 8T, some of the first if not the first devices to come with Android 11 out of the box. So software updates will be coming first to your pixel device as we know, and it's also going to meant. You're going to get a very clean Android's xperience as Google intended. Now we've got stereo speakers on both devices, there is one on the earpiece and one bottom firing. One advantage that you do get on the Pixel 4a 5G is that you do get a 3.5millimeter headphone jack, this is something.

That you don't get on the more expensive Google Pixel 5. Now let's talk about the price 'cause this is really where. I think Google have nailed it because these are coming in at some very competitive prices. So this might be the more compelling option for a lot of people. I mean, you are getting the same cameras, you're getting the same chipsets. But you are missing out on some of the features that you're getting on the Pixel 5, namely, the more premium build and design, the better display with that higher refresh rates, the more RAM, the bigger battery. The wireless charging, the reverse wireless charging, as well as the IP rating for water and dust resistance. And there we have it guys, the Google Pixel 5 as well as the Google Pixel 4a 5G are very interesting devices.
